We provide breakdown cover for either a specific vehicle or through memberships covering one or more individuals, including families, regardless of the vehicle, giving consumers choice and the confidence they need to be on the road. We’re the largest of three major providers of assistance in the UK, with more than 40% of the consumer market. We also provide our Roadside Assistance cover to manufacturers, roadside programmes, banks (for premium added value account (AVA) holders), leasing and rental companies (incl. large direct to fleet customers) and SMEs. We have c.11m business customer holdings, over 40% of the B2B market. Our market-leading position is based on our high service levels, strong partnerships, digital capability and ability to deliver innovative value-adding solutions to our partners. |

The Driving School business offers a comprehensive education for learner drivers with experienced and qualified driving instructors under The AA Driving School and British School of Motoring (BSM) brands. We are supporting our learners with additional products and services from The AA, for example, our Theory Test app which provides comprehensive, tailored support to leaners through flashcards, timed mock tests and over 700 questions. |
The Drivetech business offers driver education, training and compliance for individuals, companies and organisations. Each year more than half a million drivers attend our courses, learning how to make safer driving decisions and we have a track record of delivering excellent customer outcomes. For our fleet or business customers, we provide a range of products, including driver and fleet health checks, licence checking (UK only), online risk assessments and e-learning training modules, to full on-road coaching, workshops and even bespoke driver days. |
Our Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) strategy is anchored in a Mobile Mechanic proposition that offers customers vehicle servicing and repairs carried out by an AA Mechanic at their home or work. We are continuing to scale, with job volumes increasing as customer awareness and understanding of the service builds. We see Mobile Mechanics as a natural extension of The AA’s established roadside capability, leveraging our technical expertise, digital platform and unmatched patrols infrastructure. Outstanding customer feedback, strong repeat business, and the opportunity to serve customers new to The AA demonstrate the potential for further growth. |

The AA’s insurance broking business serves both personal members and non-members, selling both motor and home insurance policies under The AA and BEAM insurance brands. These policies are underwritten by a panel of underwriters, including The AA’s in-house underwriter. Most motor insurance sales are placed through price comparison websites (PCWs). The AA brand ranks highly in motor insurance, where price dominates, whilst in home insurance, our brand outperforms peers on PCWs. |
The AA’s in-house underwriter launched motor policies in January 2016 followed by home insurance policies in August 2016. As part of The AA Group, we utilise our extensive proprietary data as appropriate, enabling us to price more competitively, delivering value for our customers. |

Accident Assist is a complementary 24/7 accident claims service offered to our breakdown members and insurance customers. We remove the hassle by taking care of everything in the event of a vehicle accident once we have been contacted, managing the claims process, recovering the vehicle, allocating an AA-approved repairer and at times, providing a replacement car. Accident Assist acts on customers’ behalf, no matter which company they are insured with or who was at fault for the accident. It works alongside the customer’s vehicle insurance provider. |
AA Cars provides a platform of trusted dealers who have committed to our standards for added reassurance for members. For every vehicle we check vehicle history, MOT, mileage, accident and police reports. Every new car sold receives exclusive breakdown discounts and we also offer warranty cover through a selected third party. |
